Q.  What is the best location for this fence to be installed?

A.  This largely depends on your garden and pool area. There are no current guidelines, but we recommend approximately 1metre away from the inside edge of the pool. The most important element is for there to be no access points to the pool directly from the villa or garden which remain unprotected.

Q.  Can this fence be installed in grass/a soft surface?

A.  This fence can be installed in your lawn or a soft surface. A 24" (0.6m) long dirtspike is used in place of the deck sleeves used in patio installations. The dirtspike is driven into the lawn and the top of the dirtspike acts as the receptor sleeve for the stainless steel rod. This dirtspike is an optional item that can be purchased with your order.

Q.  How big are the holes that need to be drilled in my terrace?

A.  The holes for the premier fencing system are 5/8" (16mm) in diameter and approximately 4" (just over 10mm) deep. When the fence is removed, the holes are covered with the protective caps provided with each fence.

Q.  How many feet are in each section of fence?

A.  Each section is up to 12' (3.66m) long and weighs approximately 12 lbs. According to the design of your pool area and your choice of fence installation design, individual sections are shortened to provide the most secure tension fit around you pool. For fences which are 5' (1.52m) high, the sections are 10' (3.04m) in length.

Q.  What is the spacing between the poles?

A.  The poles are spaced at 36" (approximately 0.91m) intervals with the 4' (1.22m) and 4.5' (1.37m) height options and at 30" (approximately 0.76m) intervals with the 5' (1.52m) height option. Each full section has 5 poles.

Q.  How safe is this fence?

A.  The Guardian Premier Pool Fencing system is the safest “do it yourself” system we have seen, both structurally and mechanically. Our polyester mesh fabric is extremely strong and totally transparent. You will know where your children are and where they aren't at one glance.
Our reinforced T-6 marine grade aluminium poles with stainless steel screws and 36" (0.91m) pole spacing help keep the fence system tight, which in turn helps prevent children from penetrating this system.
The self-closing gate, in addition to having no top cross bar, has sloping hinges to prevent children from gaining a foothold and pulling themselves up.
However, no system is 100% absolute. It is imperative for parents and guardians to understand that no system is a substitute for adult supervision.

Q.  How strong is the fence?

A.  A 200 lbs. (approximately 90kg) adult could lean against the fence, but please remember that the fence is designed to protect children, not adults!

Q.  What are the poles made of and do they rust?

A.  The poles are made of marine grade T6 aluminium, reinforced internally with Schedule 80 PVC pipe and a stainless steel pin. Nothing on this fence can rust.

Q.  How do you clean the fence?

A.  We recommend hosing the fence down as often as you wish with a good spray nozzle. A mild detergent can be used to remove spots.

Q.  Is it easy to remove? How long does it take?

A.  Removal is very easy for any normal sized adult. Removal requires average height, strength and leverage that children don’t possess. Just follow the instructions!
The removal time is approximately 10 minutes for a fence which is 15 metres long.

Q.  What is the life expectancy of the fence? Does it come with a warranty?

A.  The fence comes with a life time warranty to the original owner against defects in materials and workmanship.
However, you must remember that the security of the fence is dependent upon correct installation - although not necessary, we do recommend a professional installation.

Q.  How does this fence hold up against animals?

A.  The fence is not designed to keep animals out of the pool area. Pool fencing can be damaged by animals. Child Guard has developed a removable fence with an optional gate that is very PET RESISTANT. Please enquire for more information on this NEW Patent Pending product!

Q.  How fast can I expect to get my fence once I place an order?

A.  That will largely depend on the size and colour option you choose. If we have the fence in stock, we will be able to give you an installation date or a delivery date (if you choose self-installation) as soon as you place your order. If we need to order your choice of fence from the U.S., you will have the option of waiting for a sea freight delivery, or paying a little more for an air freight delivery if you're in a hurry!

Q.  How do I place an order?

A.  First of all, you need to contact us, either by telephone or email. If you would prefer to install the fence yourself and are happy measuring up your own pool area, then you tell us exactly what type and how much fence you would like and we calculate the price for you.
If you would prefer to have a professional inspection of your pool area, then we would do all of the measurements for you and provide you with a no obligation quotation, including installation if you require it.

Q.  How do I actually get the fence to my property?

A.  This will depend upon where in the Canary Islands your property is located and also upon whether or not you have decided to have your fence professionally installed. In most cases, your fence will be brought to your property by us.

Q.  How do I pay for my order?

A.  When you place an order with us, we ask that you pay 50% of the cost of the fencing, with the remainder payable either on delivery or following successful installation by ourselves.
We can accept payment in Euros, Sterling or US Dollars, currently either by cash or bank transfer.
We will be able to accept payment by credit card imminently.

Q.  What equipment would I need to install the fence?

A.  You would need a Rotary Drill (preferably an SDS drill), 5/8" masonry drill bit(s), tape measure(s) and other small hand tools (See Installation page).

Q.  When I order a fence, what comes with it?

A.  All necessary hardware is included to do a complete installation into your terrace/pool area.
